FFC & FWF Friday!

Happy Friday.
Today is a weird day here in my world.
It's Friday and y'all know I love that.
It's also the fun day that the girls at work dress up for Halloween and the boss takes us out to lunch and I love that.
But it's also the day that our President just called everyone to the board room to tell us that one of our co-workers wife is going to die today. The doctor says she may only make it a few more hours this morning.
Sorry to be such a downer, I'm usually not like that but today, I just can't keep it in.
His wife has had cancer for a few months, it's a bad one, very aggressive, I can't think of the name of it right now, she's 42 years old, has a 14 year old daughter and a 17 year old son and my heart is broken for them and her husband.
We all thought this latest type of chemo would work, we all had hope...I sent her the card I made yesterday for Hip Hop and now I'm afraid it will be so sad when her husband gets it in the mail and she's gone...
So while I sit here on the day that I usually love, I feel guilty that Mike and I still get to be together, that I get to be with Rachel every day, that I get to live a normal, healthy life and I have to wonder WHY?
I'll try to be more positive, but I just needed to say that and to feel these feelings for a moment...because after I post this I have to smile and answer the phone and be happy and laugh and act normal.

My card is for Friends With Flair and our Friday Fun Challenge this week. Christi challenges us to use chocolate images or chocolate colors...I am sure I must have some chocolate images somewhere but in my searching I couldn't find them so I used Brown and Kraft...chocolatey-ish, right?

FFC in a Circle!

I'm late today...I actually forgot what day it was, crazy!
And it's my favorite day...Friday, not sure what's wrong with me!

Today's Friday Fun Challenge is to make a circle card since we have a full moon in the skies tonight! I LOVE full moons, can't wait to see it later!

For my card I used some Nestabilities and Echo Park paper and stickers...no stamps here.

For this week's Friday Fun Challenge, Christi, challenged us to make a card with 5 layers ONLY (not counting the base layer, thank God!), in honor of her nieces 5th birthday.
This was harder than I thought but very fun!
I used the FABULOUS chairs from last month's Kit of the Month from Unity.
I have been dying to use these chairs...not sure what took me so long!

Halloween Fun Hip Hop!

Here is Christi's challenge to us this fine Friday:

"It's already October and that has us gearing up for the holiday season which is a time when we tend to focus on other. For today, it's all about you. Create a project that is just for you and your enjoyment."

And now here's my story...I always do things for myself, I do what I want to, when I want to, the way I want to. I make cards only when I feel like it and only the way I want to...yep that's me.
So today I thought I'd sort of do the opposite.
I made a card for someone else, for my daughter, Rachel. She's always asking me to make her cards and I wanted to last night so I did.
It's also sort of for me, too since I wanted to use these new Nesties I got from a friend to make a scalloped card so I did!

I used the October Unity Kit of the Month Take Time To Laugh.

been like this ALL DAY, must have been the caffeinated coffee! Yep, I'm a decaf girl but for some reason I had 2 cups of full octane today! And turned into a straight up goofball!

My Unity WCMD Color Challenge

I made a Christmas card with them!
I now realize I should have used a darker brown for the image BUT it's all good! I'll know for next time :)

The image I used is from the Unity Cosmo Cricket kit called: Mitten Weather

All you have to do now is STAMP using ONLY Unity or {Ippity} and use the keyword USCWCMD03 in the SCS Gallery and you can also post it to the Unity Facebook page for more chances to win!

Now this one is correct :D
Writing: dots under sentiment to match the dots on the rose stamp
Corner Rounder: yep!
Magenta: it's there!
Damask: cuttlebug embossing folder
