Friday Fun Color Challenge and Friends With Flair!

This week's Friday Fun Challenge was issued by our Sassy girl Kim, but she's had to step down from stamping so she's no longer playing with us.

Her challenge is to use the following Halloween colors: Purple, Green, Orange and Brown but we've added a twist and it CANNOT be a Halloween card!!

The exciting news is, we have added a new Friday Fun girl to the show, Christi Snow at Altered Ambitions. We are so excited to have her join us and know you are too :)

Halloween 31 Sale Who Does That? Hip Hop Spectacular!

Can you tell I couldn't quite figure out what to title my post so I just put it ALL in there?

Today the Unity Design Team is showing off the FREE kit you get with the October Kit of the Month, Crazy for Daisies!

I don't know what I was thinking last night making these bright, crazy cards, maybe I was inspired by the stamp name CRAZY for Daisies, ha!

Tuesday 1, 2, 3!

Happy Tuesday everyone!!

Since it is Tuesday, it is time for another fun Jacksonbelle Tuesday challenge!
The challenge this week is called 1-2-3. This means you can use 1 stamp (yep, only 1), 2 embellishments and 3 layers of paper.

I think I bombed this one because after looking I see that the paper piecing might be another "layer" and the fluffy and shiny stuff I used might be "embellishments"....oops!

Friday Fun and Friends With Flair!

I didn't make a card, YAY! I am so proud of myself, y'all just don't know!
I am so afraid of things that are not cards, this was quite an adventure:)

Today the Friday Fun girls are making boxes/bags/stuff that isn't a card....

For my project I used this Scor-Pal tutorial and altered it a little bit to make it bigger so it would fit the stamp set I wanted to use and made a tea light holder for Christmas.

I used Bright and Merry Winter Wishes on all 4 sides.
**sorry I don't have a pic of it lit up but it's really pretty...I took about 50 pics of it in the dark and just couldn't make it look right**

Here's the front:One of the sides, I gold embossed the ornament and colored it with markers on the inside:
Other side, I white embossed the snowflake:

I am so happy with this little project and it was SO easy to do!!

Jacksonbelle Tuesday Sketch!

*Who Does That?!?* Thursday!

My card today was made by unanimous vote of my husband and daughter. They saw the sock monkey stamp on my stamping table and said "you HAVE to make a card using the sock monkey!", so I did:

I would have made 2 cards for you today but I was busy helping Rachel with her Senior Crown. The Sr. class at her school has a tradition of making cool crowns (out of Burger King crowns!) for Spirit Week and wearing them and hers needed some bedazzling! We used all the blue embellishments we could find in my stash and the Frame This alphabet to make her crown and I am pretty sure hers will be the most blinged out one in the whole school!
She was SO excited to wear it today!

Tuesdays with Vellum

Hi everyone!!

Today's Jacksonbelle Tuesday challenge is to use vellum!

I don't really know if I've ever used vellum on a card, if I have it was so long ago I forgot but this card was quite fun to make!
At 1st I just stared at the piece of vellum and thought I would have to use brads or maybe I should emboss it with my Cuttlebug...but then I had the idea (which I am sure is not an original one, lol!!) to stamp on it and try to color on it, so I did and then I decided to stamp and color on a piece of white cardstock and see if I could see the color through the vellum and so on and so forth and this is what I came up with. Stamping for me, sometimes, is a process...a long and unnecessarily drawn out one ;)

The stamps I used are from Inkadinkado.

I did figure out something exciting on this vellum adventure! The top edges of the vellum needed to be held down somehow and brads wouldn't work so I put a tiny dot of Mono-Multi in the corner just to see if it would hold and not show through and it worked!! So I put a little on all of the corners and some at the bottom under the words. It dried totally clear and you can't see it at all!

Here's my card using the Papertrey Ink set called Damask Designs. The paper is from Papertrey Ink, too. I've had this stamp set for months and finally decided to play with it!

The sketch I used is from the Clean and Simple Stamping, layout #63!

This next card has nothing to do with the Monday challenge, it's just one I made while I had the Papertrey Ink goodies out.
I wanted to try the Try a New Technique from last Monday on SCS, Faux Suede.

The black layer is the "faux suede" layer and in person it is very cool looking and really does look like suede!

Featuring U.R.{...etcetera} Oct '09 Collection

Today Unity is showing off the October Scrapbooking Kit U.R.{...etcetera} and I am here to show you how perfect it is for CARDS and not just scrapbooking, cause that's what I do ;)
