Summer Flower!

Happy FRIDAY!!

Today's Friday Fun Challenge is to make a Summery card with Summery stamps and Summery colors!

Well nothing says "Summer" to me like Only Orange and Pink Passion! I just love these colors for cheery, Summery cards!

I used my new Daisies die for the Big Shot (for my Cuttlebug actually!) and a stamp from the Beach Days and Sun Rays

Hip Hop Out of School!!

Today's Hip Hop is all about the end of the school year!
We are showing you gifts and cards for all of the teachers out there!

Since Rachel is a Junior in HS we really don't do teacher gifts or anything like that...she said "no one does that"...so I asked her about her favorite teacher Ms. Parker and if she'd like to give her a gift this year and she said "YES, great idea!"...PHEW....or I would have had to make up a pretend teacher to give this to ;)

Rachel said her teacher is a "girly girl" and "really pretty" and "totally cool"....so I made her something that I would love someone to make for me...:

I used the kits Confession and Butterfly Beauty on this little wall hanging.

The base is a 4x6 canvas that you paint on. I painted it with pink paint and then stamped on it with brown ink to make it look distressed a bit...I wrapped wide brown ribbon around the edge to cover the staples and added the piece of pink lace ribbon to hang it by. All paper I used is from Basic Grey.

I think those words are PERFECT for a teacher and for one as wonderful as Rachel thinks Ms. Parker is! I really hope she likes it and I hope YOU do too!!

Hero's Hip Hop!

Today's Hip Hop is all about the heroes of the world! I truly hope you find inspiration along the way, this week and every week...

When I think about a hero I think of someone that sacrifices for others, that is a role model to those around them and wants the best for the world they live in...that's my personal definition of what a hero is to me.

Who is my hero? My dad, Ralph, is my hero...No one I know has sacrificed more for me or for those in the world he lives in...in my eyes. He served our country for 31 years in the Navy, spent every 6 months for at least 15 years away from his family so other families could have freedom and live their lives the way they wanted to...he represented the US overseas in more countries than I know the name of...and did all of it willingly, gladly and proudly. I have never in all my years heard him complain about anything, even now as his own hero, his dad, my papa, is dying of cancer he just keeps on going to see him and taking care of him and reassures us all that everything will be alright and that we just need to spend time with him while we can and be thankful for the time we have had with him.

If anything gets him down he doesn't let it slow him down and he never takes it out on anyone...and all of that is a "hero" to me.

I hope you will take the time to thank the heroes around you today and all year long...

I think this card will do great for a "thank you" to the heroes out there!I used Stars of Worn on the panels and the tricycle is from Everyday Adorable and I have to tell you that my husband said that is his favorite stamp...it definitely made him smile :)

Monday Birthday! VSN, too!

Today the Monday chickies are making birthday cards!

I used the new kit by Unity that's geared towards scrappers but as you can see if great for cards, too! It's called Confession i {luv} Unity.

I made this birthday card for someone that I am sure is one of the nicest people I am GOING to meet...in July, in Orlando ;) Lori Craig..today's her birthday and I am actually going to mail this card...I know, crazy concept but it's true!

Friday Fun Oldie But Goodie {and an invite for YOU}!

Today the Friday Fun challenge is to make a card with a stamp you haven't used in at least 6 months!

So I dug through my little brown organza bags of Unity Stamps until I found one I know I haven't used in ages!
This stamp is from a kit that was called "Dads of All Kinds" and I actually came up with the idea for this kit!! I drew, with my childish ability, the images I'd like to see in a kit for Dad's and Angela was kind enough to make my wish come true....she's just cool like that! ;)

This kit is long retired but I will still use it for Father's Day and anytime I want to tell my Dad how much I love him!

Hip Hop Back to February!

Happy Hip Hop Day!!

Today's card is one I made with the FUN and FABulous stamps in the February Unity Kit of the Month!!

This kit is called Endings and Beginnings.

I used Basic Grey Wisteria paper on my card, that's what I paper pieced those cute little birds with!! I love paper piecing, I'm sure you could tell ;)

I used this weeks SCS SKetch Challenge for my layout...it's sideways but it still works.

Flower Soft Card

So, I caved in and ordered some Flower Soft (some new BG paper and some Fluffy Stuff, too)....and it's pretty fun stuff to play with!! And there is more in that little jar than I think I could ever use in a lifetime!!

I order my fun stuff like that from Eclectic Paperie: 1. because those are some sweet girls running the place, 2. because they get the orders out FAST all the way to me in VA from CA!, and 3. they always have the "latest and greatest" in their store.

Here's my fun little card using my new Flower Soft. The Flower Soft I used is the Summer Mix and I dotted the flower with my Pumpkin Pie marker to make it match the paper I used.

I used stamps from the NEW Everday Adorable Unity Kit....yesterday was a GREAT mail day, new stamps and fluffy, fun stuff.

I can tell it's almost Summer.....................because I can't stop thinking about this guy.....I go to bed thinking about him, wake up singing his songs...sing them in the shower....this has to stop....or maybe not? ;-)

Friday Fun Mother's Day Card!

It's Friday!! Time for a Friday Fun challenge.

In honor of Mother's Day we are making Mother's Day cards.

Here's mine, it's a Mother In-Law's Mother's Day card:
The base of my card is Curious brand Cryogen White from www.cutcardstock.com and the polka-dotted paper, stamps, ribbon and ink are all from Papertrey Ink.

Hip Hop *Scrappy* Thursday!

It's THURSDAY and by now it goes without saying that I LOVE THURSDAYS!!
For one, I get to see all the fabulous creations for Hip Hop and two, it means it's Friday tomorrow...and I do love Fridays ;)

Jeweled Monday!

Happy Monday!!

Today, I think the Monday challenge is to make a "jeweled" card...it might be something else, we're kinda wild like that, lol!

I really need a few Mother's Day cards so I took this opportunity to make one, possibly for my mom or mother in law....haven't decided yet ;-)
I used the BEAUTIFUL flower bunch from the Unity May Kit of the Month {fresh beginnings} and LOTS of lime green Stickles on the flowers to give them a jeweled effect.

My sketch I used is the Weekend Sketch Challenge #79 which is hosted by Jenn this week. I LOVE this sketch and all 3 Mother's Day cards I need might just use this sketch!!
