Today is HIP HOP Thursday and the 4th day of Unity's 1 Year Clebration!!

I am gonna have to guess that there will be even more fun and excitement than any other Hip Hop Thursday...if that is even possible!!!

Unity Birthday Celebration Challenge #1 {May KOTM Sneak Peek, Too!!}

Friday Fun and Birdie Update {they are so cute!}

Happy Friday everyone!!
I have LOTS to share with you today so sit back and relax!!!

Today's Friday Fun challenge, hosted by Kimme, is to use dew drops, rain dots or crystal effects on our cards in honor of "April Showers".

I have crystal effects on the present on my card but it's very hard to see, but I promise, it's there ;)
I used Birthday Chic for my card and if I do say so myself this card is rather "chic"!! I love these colors and would love to get this card on my birthday :) All other supplies are from Stampin' Up!

Next item of business is VSN!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well the Mini VSN actually!! Going on tomorrow starting at 10:00am EST til 1:00pm EST then you get a few hours for a break and we start back up at 6:00pm EST til 9:00pm EST!!

Want to know something really exciting?? Tonight at 8:00pm EST we have a special SURPRISE challenge hosted by some SCS Celebrity Show Girls!! They come bearing gifts, too, so I would make EVERY effort I could to be there!!

Last important bit of business are the ADORABLE birds that I shared with you last week! They are getting so big big that they are barely fitting in their nest!!

And while I am taking pictures of the babies the momma is yelling at me from the branch above my head!! Actually before she flew up to her branch she was on the ground about 2 feet from me just yelling her little beack off at me, it was SO funny!! She is a tough momma!!

Hip Hop **You're Invited**

My 2nd card uses the brand new adorable stamp called "Love is Everything"...I think I am going to ask Angela to change it to "TV Is Everything" for me...what do you think she'll say, lol?? Well TV is actually everything to me so it fits!!

I Love These Scissors!

I wanted to share with y'all these fabulous scissors I got at Joann's. They are by Tonic Studios and they are pink, 8.5 inch, model #486.

I bought them for a couple of reasons, they were on sale for 50% off (came to $4.99), they are pink, I love my Tonic tabletop trimmer and I needed some scissors that are ribbon dedicated instead of using my SU! paper snips for ribbon when they should be used for paper.

Here they are:

And here is a picture of all different kinds of ribbon I cut with them. I cut the ribbon on Sunday night and put it all in a little baggie and none of it has frayed at all!

I have sheer, grosgrain, twill, felt, lace, wide, narrow, taffeta, satin...every kind I could think of.
I cut some straight across and some at an angle. One the So Saffron 5/8 in. ribbon I even sliced it down the center into 2 pieces and that didn't even fray!
Here's the problem...........I cannot find anywhere online that sells them. They aren't even on the Tonic website...wierd huh? Maybe they are really new and just not out in lots of places yet. This was a brand new, HUGE Joann that I got them from that was having their grand opening but maybe they are at your local Joann store and you can get them too!!

Monday, Monday...

It's Monday...again!
Normally it's hard to come to work on Monday, but when you were off Friday and out of town for the weekend, it's REALLY HARD to come back to work..............but I'm here :)

Today we are making cards with woodland creatures, basically if you'd see it in the movie Bambi, it's a woodland creature...

The little deer is from the November 08 Kit of the Month and the tree background is the So and So Loves stamp both from Unity Stamp Co.

Speaking of woodland creatures, while I was out of town over the weekend the little Robin eggs hatched!!

It's All About Birds and CAS Today

Happy Tuesday!!

I made this card on Sunday using the Clean and Simple sketch from the weekend:
I used Birdie Inspiration for the card and Porcelain Basic Grey patterned paper.
I made the wavy bottom border with my SU! Curly Label Punch.

Ok, so, last year on April 18th, I posted a picture of a Robin's nest and her 4 eggs....TODAY I was walking into the house and leaned over to smell the flowers on the holly bush by the front door....and there was a Momma Robin about 5 inches from my face staring at me: and when she finally got tired of me staring at her she flew away and perched herself in the big tree in the front yard and squaked at me like crazy...but I got to see her 4 bright blue eggs in the nest:

Same exact spot as last year and same amount of eggs....Isn't nature FUN??

I just hope the cats and foxes stay away!!!

I love mini cards....just never know when to use them or don't really ever have the opportunity to use them...but I do LOVE making them!

I made all 3 of these exactly the same.

Jacksonbelle Challenge Time

***I took a new picture, can't believe I posted that 1st one***


Ok, I have to admit, this was HARD! The Jacksonbelle Embellishments challenge was to use white on white....and I am not a white card making girl....but felt up for a challenge so I went for it.

The white layer that is embossed is painted with Pixie Dust Shimmerz and SO sparkly here in my stamp room, wish you could see it!

I used stamps that are a 1st for me, the JustRite stamps. I have had them for a long time but never had a punch that they fit in until I recently got the 1 3/4 circle punch from SU!....I don't think I used them correctly but i'll practice some more and see how they feel ;-)

I'm just so used to my Unity Stamps that it was wierd to have to sand these stamps to get them to take the ink....so we'll see if they are worth it, haha.
