No, HE*double hockey sticks* Didn't Freeze Over...

I just got an award on Monique's blog: Faith, Trust and Pixie Dust...can you believe it?

Monique is one of my Great Swaps Girls sisters, I am such a fan of her's and she is so unbelievably kind to think of me! Thanks Monique!!

Let me tell y'all something. I read tons of blogs. I have seen this award floating around on all my favorite blogs. It is a *fancy* award, with the word *art* in it...and I honestly never in 10 million years thought that I would enter someone's mind when thinking about this particular award. I am almost afraid that it is a mistake except Monique emailed me herself...

Here are the details:

The award was originally designed by Eseya at arte y pico . You pick five blogs that you think earned this award based on their creativity, design, interesting material, and contribution to the blogging community. List the names on your blog and link to their blogs. Leave a comment on one of their posts to let them know of the award! Each winner has to show the award and put the name of the person who gave them the award with a link to their blog. Also show the link to arte y pico.

Ok here are the 5 blogs that I pick:

Krystie Lee - Cupcake Martini (even though she picked on my neti pot, lol!)

Kim Muhl, my Sassy Sistah

Jenn Balcer

Bethany Paull

Jody Morrow

==============================

Onto other business and if you didn't fall over from the shock of my award *wink*...

Spring In The Mail Giveaway of the Week!!

The cards I have today were made using Unity Stamp Company kit called "Spring in the Mail".

I have to honestly say that these stamps stamp SO perfectly! I love them! The rubber is etched very deeply and the images come out perfect every time! There is the perfect amount of cushion, too, I really love the quality of them!

You can see my 1st samples with this set here:
This Post

You can win this AWESOME stamp set by posting here:

You will love it, comment right away...hurry!!!
Today I have a new picture of that Robin's nest in my holly bush!

Yesterday morning when I went by and peeked in on them, they had hatched!! I don't know how long it takes eggs to hatch but it seemed to be pretty quick!!
I think there are 4 babies in the nest but I can't tell. They just look like one big ball of fuzziness right now:)

It was hard to get a picture of them because the momma stayed right on the nest every time I came by to peek at them! She didn't care how close I got to her she just sat there, not budging a bit!! She is such a good momma bird!

I'll take another picture when they look like *birds*...lol!
Have a great weekend! I am going to a fun Stamp Camp at a fellow demos house tomorrow morning (it is at 9:30 am so wish me luck!! I do not get up that early on the weekend, ever) and I am really looking forward to what we are going to make and to hanging out with some of my friends! Then I may hit AC Moore with my coupon in hand...just in case they have something I *have* to have;)

Sassy Window Card and a Card for Dad

It's Wednesday, time for another challenge with my Sassy friends:)

This week our theme was *windows*.I saw this card on one of my fav blogs: http://chicnscratch.typepad.com/chic...of-a-kind.html so that was my inspiration, thanks Angie:)
(It only took me 6 tries to make an even window opening before I figured out to tape down the Nestabilities die...duh)
My second card is for my dad for his birthday, His birthday is tomorrow but he wont get this til Friday...it wouldnt be from me if it was there on time, lol! It is in the box with a book about Bob Dylan that I bought him. I really hope he likes the card and the book...
That's it for now.
Tomorrow is a new Giveaway at Unity Stamp Company's blog so be sure to stop back by!!

GSG Color Challenge

This is my card for the Great Swaps Girls first weekly color challenge:

First of all I can't believed I colored the hummingbird to look like a hummingbird...I do not pride myself on my coloring skills, lol, and secondly I guess with these beautiful colors it was hard to go wrong!

The colors for this weeks challenge are Regal Rose, Certainly Celery and So Saffron, 3 of my favorite SU! colors!!

Check out our challenge and come back every week for another one;)

Robin's Egg Blue

So this is what they mean by "Robin's Egg Blue":
Can you believe that this huge nest is right in the holly bush at the bottom of the steps to my front door? It isn't even 4 feet off the ground...i'd have to say this momma bird is very brave with all the cats around here.
Hope you are having a great Friday! It is going to actually be sunny and 80* here tomorrow and I am sick with my allergies acting up, I hope I am better in the morning so I can take advantage of this beautiful weather (and the grand opening of a new AC Moore...lol). I had to bite the bullet and go to the doctor today! I hate going to the doctor, it actually makes me mad, don't like wasting my time sitting there, kwim?? She gave me a steroid to take and 2 new allergy medications, so we'll see...
Oh and she wrote down on a prescription pad that I "need" a thermometer...what? She asked if I had a fever (because I was actually throwing up this morning, TMI, sorry) and of course I didn't know. I don't have a small child so I didn't know I "needed" a thermometer...whatever.
Thanks for stopping by and listening to my ramblings:)

Sassy Wednesday

Wednesday again, so that means it is time for a stamping challenge with my Sassy SCS friends!!

This week we were to CASE a card by our newest member Amber!
This is the card we had to CASE: Apricot Chicks

And here is my card for this challenge:
I used my new Inkadinkado set called Bird Assortment. I got it on Sunday at AC Moore for 40% off:) That made me very happy! So happy, in fact, that I got another set called "Humerous Birthday", which maybe I will actually use someday, lol!

I just love the sarcastic looks on these birds faces! Cracks me up!!

This sketch was difficult for me. I am not good at non-standard sized cards. The other thing I have a problem with are brads that are just "there", kwim? I normally use brads to hold stuff down, when they are just poked through the paper for looks they look wierd to me, that's just me and I have issues bigger than that so whatever, right??

Anywho, hope everyone has a good Wednesday!
I have a terrible sore throat, I can't even swallow my warm tea and lemon, it hurts too bad....I have this Cepacol numbing throat spray...I am just too much of a baby to try it, it might taste yucky... :(

Sassy Wednesday on a Thursday!

Wednesday's are Sassy Challenge Day and I do a challenge with some Sassy friends that I met at SCS and IRL, too!!) and even though it's Thursday I wanted to share!!

This week we were to CASE the layout on this card by Sherry (sherrylc05).

Since I have been WAY too down in the dumps to actually stamp anything, I did the next best thing to get the job done and pulled out one of the 10 or so SU! Simply Scrappin' Kits that I have around here.

The one I used for this card is the Summer Days kit and it sure is bright and Summery, I just love it!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!!

{It is Sweet 16 Bday Party Weekend here so I doubt I will be able to stamp or post anything, maybe some pics next week:)}

There's Nothing Like VSN...

to get you in the stamping mood!

In case you have been living on the moon, lol, then you know it is VSN Weekend at SCS!

This is for the challenge by markie's mom to use a "sketch" style stamp on a project:
I used the set by Gina K Designs, Spring Blooms and the new Berry Sorbet cardstock and ink from Papertrey Ink and voila.

This technique I used on the Cuttlebugged layer is from a recent Technique Challenge where you ink up the Cuttlebug folder and then put the paper in it and emboss it. Pretty neat trick, I think!
Here is where you can find more on that technique: Cuttlebug Negative Effect.

Have a good rest of the weekend, if I don't see you again;)
